Architectural Design

Tonn Architecture offers a unique combination of excellent design experience and expertise in low-carbon ecological construction.

Full design services offered in line with the RIBA plan of works, from concept design through planning applications, detailed technical design and construction. Services include new-build, retrofit, extensions as well as urban and landscape design.

Client needs and aspirations will be prioritised in harmony with the environment and changing climate. Listening to and understanding your hopes for your project will be central to the design process.

A sensitive approach to context and heritage will be carefully integrated with holistic environmental design.

Tonn Architecture is based in Bangor, County Down, but also offers architectural services in Belfast, County Down and across Northern Ireland.

Talks and Consultation

Kerry Watton has delivered numerous talks and lectures on low-carbon ecological architecture, including advocating for the regulation of embodied carbon. Past audiences include the Northern Ireland All Party Group on Climate Change at Stormont, the Northern Ireland Department for Finance and the NI Federation of Housing Associations. In 2021 Kerry spoke at COP26 in Glasgow to BBC Radio Scotland on behalf of ACAN. At COP26 Kerry also spoke about the work of ACAN NI at the Sustainable Landing Hub which you can watch here. Through her professional experience Kerry has also delivered advice and training to other architects and associated professionals.

Consultation is available for those wishing to write policy, procure, design, and build low-carbon ecological buildings.
